Norsif Webinar: Asia Through an Investor Lens — Governance, Stewardship and Sustainability

The Asia-Pacific region represents more than half of the world's population, over a third of global trade, and a substantial and growing share of many institutional investment portfolios. The region is also at the forefront of some of the most significant shifts in global sustainable finance – navigating physical climate risks, rapidly evolving governance reforms, shifting supply chain dynamics, and growing green finance ambitions.

This webinar features Nana Li – a leading corporate governance and stewardship authority and author of Navigating Sustainability in Asia (2026), in conversation with Snorre Gjerde, Norsif board member and NBIM Policy Lead. They will discuss what the region's distinct governance, stewardship and sustainability landscape means for institutional investors in practice.

Speakers

  • Nana Li is Head of Sustainability & Stewardship, Asia-Pacific at Impax Asset Management and author of Navigating Sustainability in Asia: A Practical Guide for Leaders and Investors (2026). She is one of the leading authorities on corporate governance and stewardship in Asia. Previously she has served as Research and Project Director at the Asian Corporate Governance Association, where she chaired the China Working Group. She also sits on the Global Policy Committee of the International Corporate Governance Network, the IFRS Sustainability Reference Group, and the PRI's Global Policy Reference Group. In 2025, she became the first Asian recipient of the ICGN Excellence in Stewardship Award.
  • Snorre Gjerde is a board member of Norsif and Policy Lead at Norges Bank Investment Management. At NBIM he has played a key role in establishing the fund's active ownership presence in Singapore. He engages financial regulators, standard-setters and international organisations to foster well-functioning markets and sustainable business practices, representing NBIM in international forums and working groups. His background spans equity research, risk management and investment stewardship across London, Singapore and Oslo. He holds an MBA with Distinction from London Business School and a double master's degree in financial economics and international management from NHH and the LSE CEMS programme.

The conversation will be followed by live Q&A with the audience.
